¿Quién ha dicho que las guías de viajes no están pensadas para niños? La nueva colección Soñando ciudades, de la Editorial Nórdica, deja a un lado la gran cantidad de datos y los complejos mapas de las guías convencionales para apostar por un formato desplegable y con profusión de ilustraciones, especialmente dirigido a los más pequeños.
La serie se abre este año con Barcelona para niños y Londres para niños, que permitirán conocer la Ciudad Condal y la capital británica de una manera sencilla y muy visual. De hecho, los libros comienzan con un mapa desplegable y concediendo una gran importancia a los ilustradores, pues son ellos los que ofrecen la visión que han tenido de cada localidad. En la colección han participado algunos de los mejores profesionales del mundo de este sector, como Javier Zabala, Premio Nacional de Ilustración, que se ha encargado del libro de Barcelona. Jindra Capek es la responsable de la guía sobre Londres.
En el libro sobre Barcelona, el mapa ilustrado inicial permitirá a los pequeños conocer los puntos más emblemáticos de la ciudad catalana, entre los que se encuentran el Parque Güell, la Sagrada Familia, la Pedrera o la estatua de Colón. Unas ocas que viven en el claustro de la catedral gótica son los peculiares personajes que ayudan a los lectores a recorrer la ciudad, sobrevolando los lugares más típicos y contando las cosas que habitualmente se hacen en ellos.
Está previsto que la colección continúe en 2010 con Madrid para niños, también de Javier Zabala, y Venecia para niños, de Stano Dusik.
