Actualizado:
La histórica abadía de Rochefort, en la provincia de Namur (sur de Bélgica) ardió anoche en un importante incendio que destruyó buena parte del edificio, pero no dejó víctimas.
Un problema en los generadores eléctricos del edificio ocasionado por el temporal de nieve provocó el incendio que ya ha sido totalmente controlado, según informan hoy los medios de comunicación belgas.
La abadía, que además de lugar de culto es famosa por la elaboración de la cerveza trapense de Rochefort, no vio afectada su biblioteca ni la fábrica de cerveza.
Notre Dame de Saint Remy, como se llama oficialmente la abadía, data del siglo XIII.
