Iberdrola ha vendido a la chilena Compañía General de Electricidad (CGE) sus participaciones en Iberoamericana de Energía Ibener (94,74%) y Licán (55%) por 297,55 millones de dólares (212,54 millones de euros), lo que le reportará unas plusvalías brutas de 118 millones de dólares (85 millones de euros).
La venta de estas acciones, que estaban en manos de Iberdrola Energía, forma parte del plan de desinversiones en activos no estratégicos recogido en el plan de negocio 2008-2010 de Iberdrola, que prevé ventas por valor de 2.500 millones de euros para este año, informo hoy la eléctrica española.
Iberdrola entró en 1996 en el capital de Ibener, firma chilena que cuenta con dos centrales hidroeléctricas que tienen una capacidad instalada de 75 y 49 megavatios (MW), respectivamente.
Por su parte, Empresa Eléctrica Licán, también chilena, posee una central hidráulica de 17 MW en fase de construcción.
Con el plan de desinversiones previsto por Iberdrola, la eléctrica presidida por Ignacio Sánchez Galán persigue mantener su fortaleza financiera, optimizar su estructura de capital y asegurar el ritmo de inversión comprometido a los mercados.
El grupo CGE, con más de cien años de experiencia en el sector eléctrico chileno, cuenta en la actualidad con más de 300 MW atribuibles de generación y ha distribuido en 2008 más de 14.000 gigavatios hora (GWh).
