El productor de chips alemán Infineon dobló el viernes su predicción anual de crecimiento en ventas tras publicar unos resultados del primer trimestre mejores a los que esperaba el mercado.
La firma dijo que observa un continuo crecimiento en la demanda que muestra fuertes señales de que se avecina una recuperación.
"Aunque aún hay incertidumbre sobre la economía global (...) estamos aumentando nuestra previsión para 2010", dijo el presidente ejecutivo, Peter Bauer.
"Vemos que podríamos tener un aumento en las ventas del 20 por ciento con un margen en un sólo digito alto", dijo.
Infineon Technologies AG, separada del grupo de ingeniería Siemens hace más de una década, cree que el crecimiento vendrá principalmente del sector industrial, y del automóvil, sus mayores mercados.
Infineon se unió así a un grupo de firmas dentro del sector que han publicado sólidos resultados.
Su rival francesa STMicroelectronics pronosticó el miércoles que el mercado de semiconductores crecerá entre un 10 y un 12 por ciento este año.
Pero pese al optimismo general, algunas empresas han advertido que las mejorías podrían verse afectadas mientras los gobiernos van eliminando las medidas de estímulo que aplicaron para evitar el colapso de las economías en medio de la crisis global.
La firma publicó para el primer trimestre fiscal unas ganancias netas de 66 millones de euros con un aumento en las ventas del 10 por ciento respecto al periodo anterior.
Así superó el pronóstico de los analistas, que en media esperaban un beneficio neto de 49 millones de euros.
