El secretario de Estado de Seguridad, Antonio Camacho, ha asegurado hoy que la seguridad del presidente del Partido Popular, Mariano Rajoy, está garantizada en todos sus desplazamientos y va a seguir siendo cuidada en el futuro.
Camacho se refería así, durante una rueda de prensa para informar de la operación contra ETA desarrollada en las últimas horas en el País Vasco, a la información que publica hoy el diario El Mundo, según la cual el Ministerio de Interior habría retirado por razones presupuestarias la escolta a Rajoy en sus viajes al extranjero.
El secretario de Estado de Seguridad ha indicado que esta misma mañana se ha puesto en contacto con los responsables del PP para trasmitirles y asegurarles que la seguridad de Rajoy va a seguir siendo cuidada y garantizada.
Camacho ha subrayado que en el caso del jefe de la oposición, como en todos los demás, la Policía ha aplicado criterios de carácter general, no de carácter particular, "que tratan de garantizar la seguridad del señor Rajoy en todos y cada uno de sus desplazamientos".
Aunque ha recordado que el Ministerio del Interior no se pronuncia nunca sobre el aparato de seguridad de cada una de las autoridades del Estado, ya que sería una irresponsabilidad que participara en un debate sobre esta cuestión, Camacho ha insistido en que la seguridad de Rajoy ha estado garantizada en todos sus viajes.
