El primer ministro israelí, Benjamin Netanyahu, ha ordenado hoy en una sesión estratégica a sus principales ministros y funcionarios de seguridad que continúen con los 'preparativos necesarios para asegurar el bloqueo de Gaza' e impidan la salida de la Segunda Flotilla de la Libertad.
En un comunidado oficial emitido tras la reunión, Netanyahu ha ha comunicado a los diplomáticos israelíes que sigan adelante con sus intentos de impedir que salga la embarcación rumbo a Gaza cargada de ayuda humanitaria. Según el comunicado, Netanyahu asegura que el bloqueo de Gaza se realiza para impedir la entrada de armas.
El movimiento Free Gaza, organizadores de la Segunda Flotilla, ha asegurado que esperan que quince barcos con pasajeros de todas las nacionalidades zarpen destino a territorio palestino a finales de mayo bajo el lema 'Restiamo Umani', aunque es posible que la salida se retrase hasta mediados de junio, después de la celebración de las elecciones turcas.
El pasado año, la primera Flotilla fue abordada por el Ejército israelí, que asesinó a diez activistas.
