El presidente de la Generalitat, Artur Mas, ha hecho hoy un llamamiento a la unidad política en defensa de los intereses de Cataluña -con la reclamación de los 1.450 millones de euros del Fondo de Competitividad como telón de fondo- pese a la proximidad de las elecciones municipales del 22 de mayo.
En una breve comparecencia en la galería gótica del Palau de la Generalitat, tras presidir una pequeña recepción institucional con motivo de la Diada, ha emplazado al conjunto de fuerzas políticas catalanas para que no permitan que la táctica electoralista haga imposible un frente unitario catalán.
En los últimos días, el Govern ha reclamado al PSC que plante cara al Ejecutivo de José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero y se una al resto de formaciones políticas catalanas en el Congreso para reivindicar el pago a Cataluña de los 1.450 millones de euros correspondientes al Fondo de Competitividad para 2011.
"De la misma manera que la Diada de Sant Jordi es un día que une al pueblo catalán en torno a buenas virtudes y muy buenas actitudes, espero que en los próximos días, semanas y meses, pese a que haya elecciones el 22 de mayo, este buen espíritu vaya arraigando", ha planteado el presidente de la Generalitat.
En un velado emplazamiento a los socialistas catalanes, Mas ha concluido: "A ver si somos capaces de hacer cosas todos juntos en defensa de los intereses de nuestro país".
