Más de un millón de personas se han registrado a través de una página de Internet para asistir al funeral de Michael Jackson el próximo martes, para el que sólo se van a repartir 17.500 entradas, informó en un comunicado la empresa portavoz de la familia.
Un total de 1.223.978 personas han solicitado tickets para ese evento a través de la página www.staplescenter.com hasta la 13.00 hora local de hoy.
El registro, que comenzó en la mañana del viernes, se cerrará hoy a las 18.00 hora local. A última hora de ayer, AEG, la empresa organizadora del memorial, amplió el proceso de registro a personas que no residan en EEUU, una modificación al anuncio realizado previamente el viernes por la mañana.
Quienes quieran asistir al funeral tendrán a su disposición 11.000 entradas para el Staples Center y otras 6.500 para el adyacente teatro Nokia, a escasos metros del anterior, donde se emitirá una retransmisión simultánea de la ceremonia.
Los agraciados -se seleccionarán 8.750 personas que recibirán dos entradas sin cargo cada una- serán notificados este domingo. Se les informará de dónde recoger las entradas y se les proporcionará una muñequera oficial del evento.
El funeral en honor a Jackson será transmitido de forma gratuita a todo el mundo.
La página "web" facilitada para registrarse y asistir al evento recibió más de 500 millones de visitas en los primeros 90 minutos desde que se abriera el plazo, unas 120.000 por segundo.
