Las fuerzas de seguridad mexicanas capturaron el martes al joven narcotraficante Teodoro "el Teo" García Simental, supuestamente vinculado al poderoso cártel de Sinaloa y uno de los criminales más buscados por el Gobierno, dijeron autoridades.
García, uno de los principales jefes de la droga en la fronteriza ciudad de Tijuana, fue detenido en la ciudad de La Paz, cercana a la exclusiva zona turística de Los Cabos, dijo a Reuters una fuente del Gobierno que prefirió el anonimato.
A García Simental, también apodado "el Tres Letras", se lo acusa de ser uno de los principales causantes de la violencia en Tijuana, donde se libran sangrientas luchas entre bandas rivales, agudizadas tras la descomposición del clan de los Arellano Félix, que históricamente dominaba la región.
La mayoría de los hermanos Arellano Félix, que comandaban el cártel de Tijuana, fueron abatidos en enfrentamientos con las fuerzas de seguridad o se encuentran tras las rejas.
