El presidente de la Generalitat, José Montilla, cree que el líder del PP, Mariano Rajoy, "tendrá la desvergüenza de presentarse" a las próximas elecciones optando a la presidencia del Gobierno aunque el Tribunal Constitucional "le dé un varapalo" con la sentencia del Estatut catalán.
En una entrevista concedida al periódico Público, el mandatario catalán carga contra Rajoy y el PP, al que considera un partido "que descalifica al adversario con cero ideas y que sólo fomenta lo que desune".
A la espera de una sentencia del Tribunal Constitucional sobre el Estatut de Cataluña, recurrido por los populares, Montilla se pregunta "qué hará el PP si recibe un varapalo" y si dimitirá Rajoy si la sentencia supone "un varapalo", a lo que responde que "tendrá la desvergüenza de presentarse".
El presidente de la Generalitat y líder del PSC defiende que el Estatut "no es una ley orgánica más", ya que "se ha elaborado en varias cámaras y sometido a referéndum". "El método implica que es un pacto político cuya vigencia y legitimidad defiendo", afirma.
En esta línea, asegura que "yo no niego la legitimidad jurídica (del Tribunal Constitucional). Lo que niego y cuestiono es su autoridad moral".
"Hay una recusación filibustera, una vacante por fallecimiento no cubierta y cuatro miembros fuera de mandato. La culpa es de quien no pacta el relevo, pero a ellos tampoco nadie les obliga a seguir como magistrados", subraya en la entrevista.
