Confianza. Es la palabra clave para el presidente de la Generalitat de Catalu-nya, José Montilla, con vistas a la recta final de la negociación de la financiación autonómica. Unos 3.000 militantes del PSC se reunieron ayer en un acto bajo el lema "Fets. President Montilla (Hechos. Presidente Montilla)" para reivindicar la gestión del Gobierno catalán en un momento decisivo. Entre ellos, el alcalde de Barcelona, Jordi Hereu; la ministra de Defensa, Carme Chacón, y la cabeza de lista para las elecciones europeas, Maria Badia, que alabaron al primer secretario del partido.
"Ahora hemos llegado a la hora definitiva", declaró Montilla, que pidió "unos días mas de discreción y de trabajo duro para conseguir lo que Catalunya reclama y necesita para continuar liderando el progreso económico y social de España". Después de una semana de intensos contactos con el Gobierno central, el president apeló a la confianza: "Hemos dicho que no cuando había que decir que no y no aceptamos acuerdos a la baja como habían hecho otros". La lucha por los traspasos como el de las becas, el de Cercanías o el de la gestión aeroportuaria son los retos que Montilla asegura que se conseguirán en esta legislatura.
Quejas de Arenas
El presidente del Partido Popular andaluz, Javier Arenas, acusó ayer al ministro de Política Territorial, Manuel Chaves, de "traicionar" el Estatuto de Autonomía de Andalucía tras su visita a Catalunya porque, a su juicio, el pacto con Montilla significa que "le interesa más defender el sillón de Zapatero que los intereses de los andaluces".
