La morosidad a la que tienen que hacer frente los bancos y las cajas españoles volvió a vivir en abril un mes negro. Lo ocurrido en marzo, cuando apenas subió, fue un mero espejismo provocado por los movimientos de las entidades para salir bien en la foto del fin del trimestre. Con el inicio del segundo trimestre, todo volvió a la normalidad y la morosidad se elevó al 4,5%, el nivel máximo desde noviembre de 1996, alcanzada con un volumen de créditos impagados de 83.658 millones de euros, 4.210 millones más que el mes anterior.
En la fotografía, siguen de nuevo las cajas saliendo con peor cara. Su tasa de morosidad alcanzó el 5% por primera vez desde la crisis de mediados de los 90, mientras que la de los bancos ascendió al 3,81%. Esta desventaja de las cajas se debe a su mayor exposición a promotores y constructores, y también al negocio hipotecario, en el que se está produciendo un alto nivel de impagos por el crecimientodel paro.
Los datos de cierre del primer trimestre hechos públicos ayer por el Banco de España (junto al dato general de abril) demuestran que la morosidad de los promotores inmobiliarios se elevó al 7,6% (un año antes no alcanzaba el 1%); la de los constructores, al 6,7%, y la de las hipotecas de los hogares, al 2,88%. En esta tesitura, las cajas sufren mucho más porque tienen el 68,7% de sus riesgos concentrados en el ladrillo (bien sea de hogares o de empresas), mientras que los bancos, tienen el 53%.
En la subida de la tasa de morosidad también está influyendo el parón de la concesión de créditos. En marzo, el saldo vivo de financiación concedida a empresas y hogares era inferior a la de un año antes, una situación que no se vivía desde el 2000.
