El ex presidente de Venezuela Carlos Andrés Pérez murió hoy en Miami (EE.UU.) a los 88 años víctima de un ataque cardíaco, indicó su hija María Francia Pérez al canal de televisión Globovisión.
"Les informo del fallecimiento de mi padre en Miami a las 2.41 de la tarde de hoy (19.41 GMT)", dijo María Francia al canal privado venezolano.
"Fue algo de repente, se despertó con muy buen animo, estuvo hablando con nosotros, muy elocuente, y pues nada, es la vida; se le comenzó a ir el aire y de un momento para otro falleció", relató la hija del ex presidente.
Pérez confirmó que su padre murió "de un ataque cardiaco, en el hospital" a las 14.41 hora de Miami.
Consultada sobre las inquietudes que tuvo el ex gobernante en los últimos tiempos, María Francia dijo que estuvo pendiente hasta el final de la situación de Venezuela.
"Estuvo preocupado por la situación política de su país, que fue por lo que él vivió y luchó hasta el último momento; estuvo con la inquietud por su país y por el rumbo que está tomando Venezuela", dijo su hija al canal.
También señaló que la familia informará próximamente sobre el funeral y las exequias.
