El presidente de Estados Unidos, Barack Obama, pronuncia hoy un discurso en la Universidad de Georgetown sobre la situación económica del país en el que pasará revista a las medidas que se adoptan para superar la crisis.
Según indicó el portavoz de la Casa Blanca, Robert Gibbs, en su discurso de hoy Obama presentará "una actualización" del estado actual de la economía y "de muchos de los desafíos" que le esperan al país.
El discurso se produce cuando se han dado a conocer una serie de datos económicos, como los beneficios de algunos bancos, que apuntan que se puede haber tocado fondo en la crisis.
No obstante, puntualizó Gibbs, Obama también tiene en cuenta que se seguirán produciendo pérdidas de empleo.
Obama "quiere la oportunidad de poner al día a los ciudadanos acerca de en qué momento nos encontramos, lo que tenemos que hacer para avanzar y establecer los pasos que se están dando para ayudar a que nuestra economía se recupere", explicó.
