Un grupo de defensa de los animales ha criticado al presidente de EEUU, Barack Obama, por matar una mosca durante una entrevista de televisión el martes pasado.
Para que no vuelva a ocurrir, el grupo Pueblo por el Tratamiento Ético de los Animales (PETA) anunció hoy que enviará al presidente un cazamoscas que le permitiría atraparlas y después liberarlas.
"Apoyamos la conmiseración hasta con los animales más pequeños y menos simpáticos", señaló Bruce Friedrich, portavoz de PETA, en alusión a la defensa de los derechos de los animales expresada por el presidente.
Sin embargo, señaló que "matar una mosca por televisión muestra que no es perfecto. Ojalá no lo hubiera hecho".
"Creemos que la conmiseración debe demostrarse con todos los animales", añadió.
Durante la entrevista con el corresponsal de CNBC en la Casa Blanca, la insistente mosca se convirtió en un tercer personaje de la conversación.
"Sal de aquí", exclamó molesto el presidente y cuando la mosca se posó sobre una superficie la mató de un manotazo.
"Fue impresionante, ¿no es cierto? Maté el bicho.... ¿En qué estábamos....?".
