El maestro Peter Eötvös dirigirá hoy a la Orquesta de Cámara Sony que, con un programa dedicado a la música húngara reciente, interpretará el "Octeto", de Eötvös; el "Concierto para violonchelo y orquesta", de Ligeti, y el "Divertimento", de Bartók, en la Sala Sinfónica del Auditorio Nacional de Madrid.
Eötvös, director y compositor húngaro, conocido por sus adaptaciones musicales de "Del Amor y Otros Demonios", de Gabriel García Márquez; "Tres Hermanas", de Chéjov, o "El balcón", de Genet, adapta en su "Octeto de vientos en memoria de Karlheinz Stockhausen" una obra radiofónica de Samuel Beckett en una composición en la que se unen "los metales con las maderas", según ha explicado durante la rueda de prensa en la Fundación Albéniz.
Una obra que, basada en la plantilla del "Octeto" de Stravinsky, ha sido encargada especialmente al maestro por la Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía y que se estrenará en España durante este concierto que inaugura el nuevo curso.
"Tanto el compositor como el intérprete tienen que establecer un diálogo", ha puntualizado Eötvös, quien se sintió "feliz y honrado" al recibir la propuesta por los "grandes compositores" que ya habían colaborado como Toshío Hosokowa, Sofía Gubaidulina, Henri Dutilleux o Luis de Pablo.
Unas obras que ya han estrenado los cien alumnos de la escuela, unos intérpretes "estupendos y que tienen un nivel muy bueno", según Eötvös, y ha añadido que la "mezcla de nacionalidades tan fuertes como la rusa o la española tienen que formar una homogeneidad y un equilibrio dentro de la orquesta".
La interpretación de estas tres obras contará con la participación como solista del violonchelista Mikolaj Konopelski y estará dedicada a la memoria de la pianista Alicia de Larrocha, fallecida en Barcelona el pasado 25 de septiembre y que fue Vicepresidenta de Honor de la Fundación Albéniz.
Además, el próximo 27 de octubre tendrá lugar en la Sala de Cámara del Auditorio Nacional el concierto "Retrato II" dedicado íntegramente a Eötvös y durante el cual, el conjunto instrumental especializado en música de los siglos XX y XXI, Plural ensemble, interpretará la obra "Octet Plus", obra idéntica al "Octet" pero que incluye una parte del texto de Beckett a dos voces.
Paloma O'Shea, presidenta de la Fundación Albéniz, ha recordado que este concierto está convocado conjuntamente con la Fundación BBVA, "uno de los mecenas más antiguos y destacados de la Escuela".
O'Shea ha explicado que durante este nuevo curso se desarrollarán en el Auditorio Sony de la Fundación Albéniz, los ciclos de Conciertos de Otoño, de Navidad y de Pascua así como el ciclo de Órgano "Preludio", el "Da Camera" dedicado a la música de cámara y el ciclo de nueve conferencias y conciertos enmarcados dentro del año Albéniz, titulado "Albéniz en Contexto".
