Michel Platini, presidente de la UEFA, mantuvo delante del presidente del Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez, que le sigue pareciendo "indecente" los 94 millones de euros que el conjunto madridista pagó al Manchester United por el fichaje del delantero portugués Cristiano Ronaldo.
Platini, que se encuentra en Madrid para presidir el partido entre el Real Madrid y el Milán, ha insistido en afirmar que el fichaje de Cristiano Ronaldo es excesivamente caro. "Los vinos españoles son buenísimos, tanto como los franceses, pero los de la comida no me hacen cambiar de opinión y se lo he dicho a Florentino", ha dicho. "La cantidad pagada me parece indecente, 94 millones es una cantidad increíble. Y no sólo me lo parece a mi, sino a millones de personas", manifestó en la sala de prensa del estadio Santiago Bernabéu.
El presidente de la UEFA no entiende cómo "un jugador puede valer tantos millones". Platini añadió que "si el Real Madrid tiene dinero para gastar 200 millones", le "seguirá pareciendo exagerado e indecente".
En cuanto al encuentro que se disputa en el Bernabéu ha reseñado que él es "un enamorado del fútbol" y que le hace "mucha ilusión ver un partido entre los dos equipos que más han marcado la historia, con 16 Copas de Europa entre ambos".
Platini también habló sobre el Real Madrid y quiso defender a su compatriota, el delantero Karim Benzemá. "Es un gran jugador. Tiene 21 años y está en un club donde la competencia es muy dura", dijo Platini.
Platini reconoce que se ha situado en el centro de las críticas de los españoles tras sus decisiones con respecto al cierre del Calderón y sus declaraciones sobre Cristiano Ronaldo. "Pensaron que tuve un sentimiento anti madridista", dijo el francés. También añadió que cuando decidió cerrar el Vicente Calderón muchos pensaron que "atacaba al fútbol español".
"No es verdad", ha añadido, "ataco a los que no se comportan bien. Mi papel es defender el fútbol y erradicar los excesos", se justificó Platini.
Adentrándose en aquel incidente con el Atlético de Madrid, Platini defendió que la decisión de sanción no fue tomada por él: "La adoptó un comité de disciplina independiente, no intervine". Platini aprovechó para defender su gestión al frente de la UEFA. "Mi misión es luchar contra el racismo, la violencia y la homofobia", ha dicho.
Además, Platini ha asegurado que se sintió ofendido porque la prensa madrileña habló en su momento de "robo organizado" por él. "Esa palabra no la puedo aceptar", ha concluido.
