El PNV ha exigido hoy al actual Departamento del Interior del Gobierno Vasco que aclare que "es falso e injusto" que con anteriores Ejecutivos la Ertzaintza "no trabajara" en la lucha contra ETA y que ahora, que la consejería está en manos del PSE, sí lo va a hacer.
El presidente del PNV, Iñigo Urkullu, ha comparecido ante los medios de comunicación en Bilbao, junto a los últimos consejeros de Interior de su partido, para reivindicar la eficacia policial de la Ertzaintza en todos los ámbitos y transmitir a los agentes su apoyo y agradecimiento por su entrega.
El último responsable de dicho departamento en la anterior legislatura, Javier Balza, ha pedido que desde el actual Gobierno Vasco se nieguen los comentarios que "se están asentando" en la sociedad de que "ahora sí, antes no".
Según ha dicho, "nuestros 8.000 ertzainas no llevan 30 años mirando al techo, llevan 30 años dejándose la piel", en esa lucha por la seguridad de la sociedad vasca.
El pasado 12 de junio Antena 3 emitió una entrevista a dos personas que se identificaron como ertzainas y que iban vestidos de uniforme con el rostro oculto.
Los dos supuestos agentes denunciaron que hasta ahora, con el Gobierno Vasco en manos del PNV, habían tenido las "manos atadas", ya que existía una "predisposición política" para no detener "a todas estas personas" de ETA y su entorno.
