Portugal está en conversaciones con los jugadores de fútbol Luis Figo y Cristiano Ronaldo para intentar llevarlos a su pabellón durante la Exposición Universal de 2010 en Shanghái (China), que se celebrará entre mayo y octubre de este año, recoge hoy el diario oficial "Shanghái Daily".
Además la cantante lusa Mariza, ganadora de un premio Grammy, también dará un concierto en el Centro de Actuaciones de la Expo para celebrar el día nacional de Portugal en el evento, el próximo 6 de junio, adelantó el comisario general del pabellón, Rolando Borges Martins.
El lema de Portugal para la Expo 2010 es "Portugal, una plaza para el mundo, Portugal, un mundo lleno de energías", que se refiere a la posición del país como una potencia en intercambios culturales y comerciales, así como a su experiencia en la utilización de nuevas energías limpias.
El pabellón, con una fachada hecha de corcho, material de cuya producción Portugal es un líder mundial, mostrará una película de seis minutos sobre los paisajes naturales del país y sus ciudades, además de ofrecer una selección de platos y dulces portugueses en su cafetería.
Por otro lado, Nueva Zelanda ha revelado también sus planes para la Expo, donde que mostrará una piedra de jade de 1,8 toneladas, que simboliza su unión con la cultura china, ya que ambos países tienen devoción por este material.
El pabellón neozelandés, cuyo lema es "Ciudades de la naturaleza: Vivir entre la tierra y el cielo", se centrará en la leyenda maorí de Tane, el dios de los bosques, que separó a sus padres Rangi (Padre Cielo) y Papa (Madre Tierra) para crear el mundo.
Por su parte, la ONU confirmó que acogerá en su pabellón de la Expo una serie de conferencias internacionales centradas en temas como el desarrollo urbano, el sector sanitario, la protección medioambiental, el cambio climático, la vida científica o las organizaciones no gubernamentales.
Las sesiones, que tendrán participantes de 100 ciudades y organizaciones del mundo, empezarán con un primer foro mundial sanitario programado para entre el 2 y el 4 de mayo, explicó el comisario general de la ONU en la Expo, Awni Behnam.
