El presidente del Parlamento de Irán, Ali Lariyani, afirmó hoy que el reciente informe del director del Organismo Internacional de la Energía Atómica (OIEA), Mohamed el Baradei, sobre el programa nuclear iraní "sólo busca ganar tiempo".
Según la radio nacional de Irán, Lariyani hizo esta declaración hoy en el aeropuerto de Rasht, en la provincia septentrional de Guilan, donde se encuentra de visita oficial.
Para Lariyani, ex jefe negociador nuclear iraní, los países occidentales "intentan, de forma continuada, ganar tiempo con este tipo de diplomacia".
"Sin embargo, la República Islámica de Irán no busca tiempo, sino que quiere la solución del asunto, y no le interesa que se alargue la cuestión", señaló.
Mientras el Consejo de Seguridad prepara el borrador de nuevas sanciones contra Irán por su programa nuclear, el OIEA destacó en su último informe la falta de cooperación de Teherán con este organismo.
"Hemos trabajado con franqueza con el OIEA, pero va a haber problemas si ellos quieren complicar aun más los avances nucleares de Irán", advirtió.
La comunidad internacional observa con recelo la actividad nuclear de Irán y teme que Teherán busque fines militares a través de su programa, por lo que ha pedido a las autoridades iraníes la suspensión de su actividad de enriquecimiento de uranio, un material que puede tener un doble uso militar y civil.
