Como si de un juicio se tratara, Benzema se enfrenta esta noche en San Mamés a la primera de las tres vistas (Athletic, Málaga y Deportivo) que tendrá, ante la ausencia de Higuaín, para demostrar que Florentino acertó con su fichaje. El presidente del Madrid apostó fuerte este verano por él, desembolsó 36 millones de euros al Olympique de Lyon, y está deseoso de que Benzema salga de su letargo. Por fin, Pérez verá a sus tres grandes fichajes desde el inicio. El francés, sin ser titular, acredita ya cinco goles.
Ayer, además, Benzema recibió la visita del que hasta hace pocos meses fue su presidente en el Lyon: Jean-Michel Aulas. La visita del dirigente francés, que guarda una excepcional relación con Benzema, alegró el día al delantero. El francés está mucho más integrado en el vestuario, ha comenzado a chapurrear el castellano y ya está instalado en su nueva casa en Madrid.
"Veo entrenarse a mis jugadores todos los díasy sus participaciones en cada partido, y Benzema no tiene nada que demostrarme, ya demuestra su calidad cada día", dijo ayer Pellegrini del galo. Por contra, Higuaín, Van der Vaart, Van Nistelrooy y Pepe siguen lesionados, y Diarra está disputando la Copa de África con Mali. Quien sí entró en la convocatoria es Guti. "Ya tiene suficiente edad para saber lo que dice. Entiendo su posición porque muchas veces se dicen mentiras", lo defendió Pellegrini ante las críticas que ha levantado el numero que montó ante la prensa el miércoles.
Por su parte Caparrós, se mostró cauto ante la visita del Madrid: "Tiene hambre y, junto con el Chelsea, puede ser el equipo más físico de Europa. Es muy vertical y con mucha pegada, y cada jornada va creciendo".
