La exposición Armonía fractal de Doñana y las Marismas, que se presenta en el Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid, ofrece imágenes que muestran las ocultas y armónicas estructuras de la naturaleza realizadas por el fotógrafo e investigador del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) Héctor Garrido y se podrá visitar hasta el próximo 28 de febrero.
El Jardín Botánico acoge una muestra de 32 fotografías aéreas que captan la geometría que esconde la naturaleza del Parque Nacional de Doñana (Cádiz), esculpida durante miles de años por la fuerza de las mareas, la dinámica de la sedimentación y el incesante trabajo de la erosión.
Las fotografías se acompañan con un acercamiento científico a la geometría fractal a cargo del comisario de la muestra, el también investigador del CSIC Juan Manuel García Ruiz, y de textos de autores como Luis Landero o José Saramago.
Además de su valor artístico, las imágenes sirven para demostrar la teoría científica de la geometría fractal, desarrollada a mediados del siglo XX por Benoît Mandelbrot, que explica que la naturaleza no puede ser descrita con la geometría clásica euclidiana basada en rectas, círculos, planos. Según la geometría fractal, a través de la ejecución de un conjunto de algoritmos matemáticos es posible imitar las formas que se repiten en el paisaje natural.
La exposición pretende ofrecer al visitante ciencia, arte y reflexión. A través de estas fotografías aéreas sobre Doñana y las Marismas andaluzas, el visitante será capaz de reconocer la geometría que oculta la Naturaleza y que a veces sólo puede apreciarse a vista de pájaro.
Pero la exposición pretende ir más allá de la belleza propia de estas imágenes y aspira a llevar al espectador a preguntarse por el origen de esa belleza. La armonía de las estructuras fotografiadas aparece ligada a su estructura fractal, a la geometría propia de la naturaleza.
