El capitán madridista Raúl González, con el tanto anotado esta noche en terreno del Real Zaragoza (1-2), que abría el triunfo de su equipo, en partido adelantado de la trigésima cuarta jornada liguera española, suma ya 228 tantos en dicha competición, siendo el tercero máximo goleador de la historia.
Raúl, que saltó al terreno de juego en el minuto 15 en lugar del lesionado Rafael Van der Vaart, anotó el 0-1 a los 50 minutos de juego, al "matar" un pase del portugués Cristiano Ronaldo.
Nada más anotar, Raúl fue sustituido ya que estaba jugando lesionado, tras sufrir un esguince en el tobillo derecho.
Se trata de su quinto gol en la actual campaña liguera 2009/10, que sumado a los 223 que ya había logrado, le dan un total de 238 tantos en la máxima competición nacional española, todos ellos con el Real Madrid, con el que debutó precisamente en Zaragoza el 29 de octubre de 1994.
Los 238 tantos ligueros marcados le permiten ubicarse en solitario en la tercera plaza de los máximos goleadores de la historia de la competición, superando a un Alfredo Di Stéfano con quien hasta hoy compartía la cuarta posición.
El máximo goleador de la historia de la liga española es Telmo Zarraonandia "Zarra" Montoya , autor de 251 goles. La segunda plaza la ocupa el mexicano Hugo Sánchez, con 234 tantos.
