El nuevo director del Festival de Cine de San Sebastián, José Luis Rebordinos, ha asegurado a EFE que el certamen donostiarra y el de Málaga "son perfectamente compatibles" para dar cabida al cine español.
"Nunca pensé que existiera la posibilidad de que el cine español no tuviera lugar en San Sebastián. No tuve ninguna duda de que esto fuera a ser un problema", ha dicho Rebordinos, disipadas las dudas que en su día sembró el anterior director general del Instituto de la Cinematografía y las Artes Audiovisuales, Ignasi Guardans, cuando defendió que Málaga fuera "el escaparate del cine español".
El responsable del Zinemaldia ha afirmado que el entendimiento con el sucesor de Guardans, Carlos Cuadros, "es total".
"He estado un par de veces con él y la sintonía es muy grande. Me siento muy cómodo con él, y creo que es algo mutuo", ha precisado.
Ha afirmado que el certamen andaluz es un foro "muy interesante" para la cinematografía nacional, aunque sin "el eco que tiene San Sebastián, donde existe una presencia de acreditados internacionales que Málaga nunca se va a plantear porque su función es otra".
Rebordinos considera que el Festival malagueño, que celebrará su decimocuarta edición del 26 de marzo al 2 de abril, fue "muy inteligente" eligiendo las fechas, lo que le distancia cinco meses y medio del donostiarra.
"Málaga tiene unas fechas estupendas, no hay ninguna competencia con San Sebastián. Recoge parte de la producción de la primera parte del año y San Sebastián va a productos que se terminan la mayoría de ellos después de Málaga. Somos perfectamente compatibles", ha destacado.
