Antes que la reforma de la ley, garantizar el derecho a la intimidad de las abortistas y de los profesionales médicos y lanzar una campaña de prevención y pedagogía para atajar el “alarmante” crecimiento de abortos entre adolescentes. Estas son las dos prioridades del Gobierno y del PSOE en relación con la interrupción voluntaria del embarazo.
La reforma legal no se planteará al Parlamento hasta 2010 ó 2011. Antes de comenzar los trámites, el Gobierno quiere propiciar un debate que genere un amplio consenso social, consciente del rechazo de la iglesia católica y del PP y de que precisará negociar otros apoyos parlamentarios.
Además, la resolución aprobada por el congreso del PSOE la semana pasada apunta hacia una ley de plazos, por ser “la expresión que más claramente traduce la idea de reforma”. Pero dentro del Gobierno hay voces importantes que sostienen que esa fórmula no pasaría el filtro del Constitucional. La resolución alude también al modelo de indicaciones y el planteamiento final puede ser una fórmula mixta, lo que exigirá de un estudio cuidadoso de la jurisprudencia y de la legislación comparada.
