El jugador del Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo se disculpó por romper la nariz del defensa del Málaga Patrick Mtiliga en el partido del domingo, pero dijo que no debió ser expulsado.
El jugador más caro del mundo anotó los dos goles del Real Madrid en la victoria merengue por 2-0 como local, lo que dejó al equipo madrileño a cinco puntos del líder, el Barcelona.
Pero recibió una tarjeta roja en el minuto 70 después de lanzar su brazo hacia atrás y golpear a Mtiliga en la cara mientras intentaba eludir el bloqueo del defensa danés.
"El que juega al fútbol sabe que mi intención no es agredirle, sino defenderme de su agarrón. Yo no quería lesionarle", declaró Ronaldo a periodistas.
"He ido a pedir disculpas a Mtiliga y me ha dicho que no hacía falta porque mi intención no era agredirle (...) Puede que en las imágenes se vea sangre, pero quien sabe de fútbol entiende que eso no es roja", agregó.
El técnico del Málaga, Juan Ramón López Muñiz, dijo que Mtiliga tenía la nariz rota y que estará fuera del campo unas tres semanas.
El presidente del club andaluz Fernando Sanz criticó la actitud de Ronaldo cuando fue entrevistado inmediatamente después del partido.
IMPACTO BRUTAL
"Estoy convencido de que no le quiere dar, se lo quiere quitar de encima, pero primero suelta el codo y no le da y luego sí, y le rompe la nariz. La expulsión es clara", dijo Sanz a Canal Plus.
"Fue un impacto brutal. En vez de salir con los brazos en alto debería disculparse con un compañero al que le ha roto la nariz", agregó.
El técnico del Real Madrid Manuel Pellegrini dijo que no pudo ver la jugada con claridad, pero el director general del club, Jorge Valdano, salió rápidamente en defensa de su jugador.
"Un árbitro tiene que saber quién apuesta por el espectáculo y quién por interrumpirlo (...) Cristiano apuesta por jugar, quiere jugar y tiene ganas de jugar. Cuando le agarran por detrás intenta soltarse porque quiere jugar siempre, mientras otros se tiran al suelo para simular una falta", declaró.
"Más que adaptarse Cristiano a la Liga española, estaría bien que los árbitros hagan un juicio y reflexionen sobre quién va a favor del espectáculo", agregó.
Es la segunda tarjeta roja de Ronaldo en el Real Madrid, pues ya había sido expulsado en un partido de La Liga contra el Almería el mes pasado.
