Actualizado:
El epidemiólogo jefe de Rusia, Guennadi Oníschenko, confirmó hoy los dos primeros casos letales de gripe A en el país desde el comienzo de la pandemia.
El funcionario precisó que se trata de dos mujeres, de 29 y 50 años, que fallecieron en la ciudad de Chitá, en el sur de Siberia.
"A ambas se le confirmó el diagnóstico de virus AH1N1. Ambas tenían neumonía", dijo a Oníschenko a la agencia Interfax.
Agregó que una de las mujeres estaba embarazada y que los médicos no pudieron hacer nada por salvar el bebé en gestación.
Según las estadísticas oficiales, hasta el momento en Rusia se han registrado 1.349 casos de gripe A.
