El Grupo Santander obtuvo un beneficio neto de 6.740 millones de euros entre enero y septiembre de 2009, un 2,8 por ciento menos que en el mismo periodo de 2008, informó hoy la primera entidad financiera española a la Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV).
La entidad que preside Emilio Botín optó por reforzar la calidad de su balance y destinó 2.247 millones de euros procedentes de plusvalías netas a provisiones genéricas (1.400 millones) y a sanear los inmuebles adquiridos (otros 600 millones).
La primera entidad financiera española tenía una tasa de mora del 3,03% al término de septiembre, ligeramente por encima del 2,82% con que cerró el primer semestre del año, un ratio que en el mismo mes del año pasado era del 1,71%.
La cobertura para cubrir insolvencias se situaba, por su parte, en el 73,32%, frente al 105,24% de un año antes.
Los créditos a la clientela se situaban en 670.059 millones de euros netos, el 10,9% más que en septiembre de 2008, en tanto que los recursos de los clientes sumaban 866.879 millones, el 4,5% más.
