El sector servicios, uno de los sectores clave de la economía española , sigue sin levantar cabeza. En agosto su cifra de negocios volvió a caer un 13,4% respecto al mismo mes de 2008, lo que, pese a mejorar levemente la caída de julio (-14,2%), supone acumular 13 meses consecutivos de bajadas.
No sólo es preocupante el desplome de su cifra de negocios, sino la sangría de empleo que está manando de su herida. Según el INE, vuelve a destruir un 6,3% de empleo en agosto y, décima arriba o abajo, acumula 14 meses deshaciéndose de puestos de trabajo a ese ritmo.
Por sectores, cabe destacar el descenso del comercio (-15,4%), por alto, y el 8,8% que cayó el turismo en un mes que debería ser muy favorable para el sector.
También cae el transporte de forma importante, alrededor del 13%, lo que supone un mal síntoma para la economía en su conjunto. Para CETM, la patronal del sector, el transporte es la mejor radiografía que se le puede hacer a la economía española: "Todo se transporta, nuestra actividad depende de los principales sectores de la economía", sostienen. "Si nosotros no despegamos es que los demás tampoco lo están haciendo". De este modo, se cumplen las previsiones de la patronal, que auguran una caída del sector entre el 15% y el 20% a finales de año.
En cuanto al empleo, los sectores que más pérdidas sufren son los servicios a empresas (-8,3%), seguido de Turismo (-6,4%), Transporte (-5,8%), Comercio (-5,5%) y Tecnologías de la información (-3,8%).
