Actualizado:
El italiano Marco Simoncelli (Gilera) ha decidido regresar a casa para no arriesgar el resto de la temporada al no encontrarse en plenas condiciones para pilotar su moto tras la intervención quirúrgica a la que se sometió el martes pasado.
Simoncelli, campeón del mundo de 250 c.c. en 2008, no pudo pasar de la decimocuarta plaza en los entrenamientos libres y, con grandes molestias en la mano derecha, ha preferido dar por finalizada su participación en el Gran Premio de Qatar para no arriesgarse a sufrir una recaída de su lesión.
