El Alto representante de la Unión Europea (UE), Javier Solana, llegó la madrugada de hoy a Teherán para proponer a las autoridades iraníes un paquete de propuestas que pretenden resolver los problemas que plantea a la comunidad internacional el programa nuclear iraní.
Según informó la agencia estudiantil de noticias de Irán (ISNA), Solana llegó acompañado por una delegación de altos representantes de los ministerios de Exteriores del grupo 5+1, integrado por EEUU, Reino Unido, China y Francia, además de Alemania.
El responsable comunitario tiene previsto reunirse esta mañana con el ministro iraní de Asuntos Exteriores, Manucher Mottaki; y el principal negociador de Irán en materia nuclear y el secretario del Consejo Supremo de la Seguridad Nacional(CSSN), Said Yalili.
Solana declaró el viernes en un comunicado que iba a presentar a las autoridades iraníes "una oferta amplia y generosa".
Con esta oferta, explicó el jefe de la diplomacia comunitaria, la Unión Europea (UE) y los seis países negociadores "muestran su voluntad de desarrollar una relación constructiva con Irán en el ámbito nuclear y en otras muchas áreas".
En ese sentido, Solana dará a conocer a las responsables iraníes "el programa actualizado de propuestas que pretenden resolver los problemas que suscita a la comunidad internacional el programa nuclear iraní".
El alto representante expresó hace unos días su deseo de obtener durante la visita que inicia hoy "garantías objetivas" sobre la naturaleza pacífica del programa nuclear de Irán.
A cambio de la renuncia al enriquecimiento de uranio, el negociador europeo ofrecerá a las autoridades del país un nuevo conjunto de incentivos.
