Solidaritat Catalana per la Independència (SI) ha amenazado con querellarse contra el Ayuntamiento de Valencia y la Real Federación Española de Fútbol si el himno español se emite con un volumen por encima de la normativa en la final de la Copa del Rey que se celebrará mañana en Valencia.
El candidato de SI a la alcaldía de Barcelona, Santiago Espot, ha anunciado que su partido ha instado a la alcaldesa de Valencia, Rita Barberà, a través de un escrito, a "tomar las medidas adecuadas para evitar la contaminación acústica pretendida y anunciada por la RFEF".
SI cree que la emisión del himno español que se producirá en la previa del enfrentamiento entre el Fútbol Club Barcelona y el Real Madrid en la final de la Copa del Rey incumplirá la ley de la Generalitat Valenciana sobre la Protección Contra la Contaminación Acústico para evitar de este modo que se escuchen los posibles silbidos de la afición barcelonista.
Espot ha invitado a todos los seguidores a "reproducir de forma sonora" su rechazo al himno español, como protesta por querer "imponerlo" a base de un exceso de decibelios, algo que considera una "imposición grosera propia de mentes enfermizas".
El diputado de Ciutadans Jordi Cañas ha reaccionado al llamamiento de Espot y ha lamentado que SI "haga del enfrentamiento y la violencia una forma de ganar espacio político".
Además, ha acusado a Espot de haber liderado la pitada "perfectaente preparada y diseñada" contra el himno español en la final de la Copa del Rey de 2009 disputada por el Barça y el Athletic de Bilbao también en Mestalla. Precisamente, ha recordado Espot, esto provocó que presentaran una querella contra él "que fue archivada".
