Telefónica y China Unicom han ejecutado hoy el acuerdo de intercambio accionarial por el que la española incrementa su participación en la operadora china hasta el 8,06% de su capital, a través de Telefónica Internacional, y China Unicom entra en accionariado de la multinacional española con un 0,87%.
Telefónica informó hoy a la Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) la consumación de este acuerdo estratégico por el que cada parte invierte el equivalente a mil millones de dólares estadounidenses en acciones ordinarias de la otra parte.
De esta forma, Telefónica ha suscrito 693.912.264 nuevas acciones emitidas por China Unicom y ésta, también por aportación no dineraria, ha suscrito 40.730.735 acciones de Telefónica.
Esta operación supone que Telefónica no podrá ofrecer, emitir, ni vender un número significativo de sus acciones, o cualquier valor convertible, a cualquier de los principales competidores de la operadora China Unicom durante un año y la operadora China se ha comprometido a no vender durante el mismo plazo las acciones de Telefónica en su poder.
También han suscrito un pacto similar respecto a las acciones de China Unicom.
Por otra parte, Telefónica comunicó a finales de septiembre que incrementará su participación en China Unicom hasta el 8,4 por ciento, tras la recompra por parte de la operadora china del 3,79 por ciento del capital que estaba en manos de la surcoreana SKT y su posterior amortización.
A pocos minutos del cierre de la sesión en la Bolsa española, las acciones de Telefónica subían un 0,63 por ciento y se negociaban a 19,06 euros por título.
