Los Toronto Raptors de José Manuel Calderón derrotaron el jueves a los New York Nicks por 106-104, sumando su cuarta victoria consecutiva.
Calderón, que estuvo en pista 24 minutos sumó 12 puntos y siete asistencias, mientras que los máximos anotadores de su equipo fueron Chris Bosh y Hedo Turkoglu con 27 y 26 puntos, respectivamente. Bosh capturó además 15 rebotes.
Los 29 puntos de David Lee para los Nicks no fueron suficientes para evitar la derrota.
Mientras, en Orlando, Rashard Lewis convirtió una bandeja a 1,3 segundos del final del partido para dar a Orlando Magic una victoria por 96-94 sobre Boston Celtics en el baloncesto de la NBA.
Lewis fue el máximo anotador del partido, con 23 puntos, y Rasheed Wallace de Boston falló un triple cuando se agotaba el tiempo, lo que selló la improbable remontada de los Magic (30-16).
"Giré en la esquina, fui a la canasta y esperaba que la defensa se cerrara", dijo Lewis a periodistas. "Me sorprendió cuando giré a la canasta y no había nadie", agregó.
Orlando perdía por 14 puntos en el último cuarto, entonces Dwight Howard lideró una remontada con 11 de los 19 tantos que anotó en el cuarto período, capturó 10 rebotes y bloqueó cuatro lanzamientos.
Howard marcó nueve puntos seguidos para Orlando, iniciando una serie de 12-4 que dio a los locales una ventaja de 84-83 con cuatro minutos y 52 segundos restantes en el reloj, la primera vez que estuvieron al frente en el encuentro.
Ray Allen realizó sus primeros siete tiros y terminó con 20 puntos, mientras que Wallace sumó 17 unidades para los Celtics (29-14), que perdieron por primera vez en tres partidos desde que Kevin Garnett se recuperó de una lesión a su rodilla.
