Los trabajadores del sector metalúrgico de la provincia de Pontevedra han iniciado esta mañana una peculiar 'peregrinación' a pie hasta Santiago de Compostela, donde esperan llegar mañana, para reclamar una negociación que permita poner fin a la huelga y concluir un nuevo convenio colectivo.
Los huelguistas de Vigo se reunirán en Pontevedra con sus compañeros de otros puntos de la provincia.
Desde Pontevedra, la comitiva comenzará el recorrido caminando hasta Compostela, no para visitar la figura del apóstol, como es habitual entre muchos peregrinos, sino para reclamar ante la Xunta de Galicia mayor compromiso para forzar a la patronal a obtener mejores condiciones laborales y salariales.
La huelga del sector metal en la provincia de Pontevedra, que afecta a unos 27.000 trabajadores del sector, alcanza hoy la decimonovena jornada sin perspectivas de un posible acuerdo para un nuevo convenio colectivo, pese a más de tres meses de negociación entre patronal y sindicatos.
