La ministra de Sanidad y Política Social; Trinidad Jiménez, se reunirá hoy con su equipo para analizar el brote de gripe porcina en humanos detectado en México y algunos estados del sur de EEUU.
Trinidad Jiménez mantendrá una reunión de trabajo para analizar la situación del brote y las medidas que se pueden tomar de acuerdo a las recomendaciones internacionales para mejorar las actuaciones preventivas.
En relación a los casos detectados de gripe porcina en humanos en EEUU y México, el ministerio de Sanidad ha indicado que está en permanente contacto con las autoridades sanitarias de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) y la Comisión Europea con el objetivo de conocer la situación y establecer las medidas preventivas oportunas en caso necesario.
El director de Salud Pública y Sanidad Exterior del Ministerio de Sanidad, Ildefonso Hernández, ha asegurado que hasta el momento la OMS no ha realizado ninguna recomendación específica de limitar la circulación de viajeros y que antes de que la OMS recomiende una acción de ese tipo, que afecta a derechos fundamentales, debe estar bien fundamentada.
La OMS ha informado de la existencia de varios brotes de un cuadro pseudogripal grave en México y EEUU (California y Texas).
Según los últimos datos facilitados por la OMS, en EEUU se han registrado 8 casos confirmados de gripe de origen porcino A/H1N1 y 9 casos sospechosos.
Sobre la situación en México, la OMS informa de que se han identificado 3 agrupaciones en 3 diferentes Estados del país.
