Un gol del suizo de ascendencia turca Gökhan Inler a la hora de partido, supuso una losa insalvable para el Milán, incapaz de evitar la derrota en San Siro y la eliminación en los cuartos de final de la Copa de Italia a manos del Udinese (0-1), que accedió a semifinales, donde se medirá al Roma.
Tres días después de perder el derbi ante el Inter, que apartó gran parte de sus opciones de conquista del título de la Liga italiana, el conjunto del brasileño Leonardo se despidió de otro título, la Copa, que no conquista desde 2003, cuando logró su quinto trofeo.
El Udinese, por su parte, rentabilizó su ocasión y alcanzó las semifinales en busca de la segunda final de su historia, tras la única hasta ahora, jugada en 1922.
El conjunto que dirige el ex levantinista Gianni De Biasi buscará la final en el duelo contra el Roma, que el martes eliminó al Catania (1-0). Los cuartos de final de Copa se completarán mañana, jueves, con el choque entre el Inter y el Juventus. El vencedor se medirá al Fiorentina, verdugo del Lazio.
