La Unión Europea dirá a Grecia la semana próxima que tome medidas adicionales para el 15 de mayo para apuntalar sus finanzas y reducir su creciente déficit, informó el sábado el periódico local Ta Nea citando una decisión en borrador.
Las recomendaciones de la Comisión Europea, que serán divulgadas el 3 de febrero, incluyen recortes de salarios públicos nominales y establecer un tope para jubilaciones altas, según la información.
Grecia está buscando la aprobación de la UE para un plan de austeridad que presentó este mes, dirigido a reducir su déficit presupuestario por debajo del el 3 por ciento del PIB para 2012 y evitar una crisis de deudas, vista como una amenaza para la zona euro.
El plan griego incluye severas reducciones de gastos y cortes en las asignaciones que componen gran parte de los ingresos generales de los funcionarios civiles.
El Ministerio de Finanzas de Grecia no estuvo disponible de inmediato para hacer comentarios sobre la información del diario.
La UE también pedirá a Grecia que introduzca pagos de impuestos por adelantado para los trabajadores independientes y posiblemente un tributo a los bienes de lujo, indicó el reporte.
La mayoría de las otras recomendaciones, según fueron detalladas por el diario, ya son parte del plan de Gobierno griego.
