El presidente del Bayern de Múnich, Uli Hönnes, ha realizado duras declaraciones contra el entrenador Louis Van Gaal, poco después de la destitución del holandés.
"La historia de que los jugadores lo respaldaban no es un más que un cuento de hadas", dijo Hönnes, considerado como uno de los críticos más duros de Van Gaal dentro del club.
Hönnes dijo que la cúpula del Bayern se había visto obligada a reaccionar no sólo por el hecho de que la clasificación para la Liga de Campeones está en peligro, sino porque en el club hace tiempos que faltaba el placer en el trabajo.
"Una cosa es el éxito. Pero hacía tiempos que en este club había desaparecido el placer", dijo Hönnes.
Entre Hönnes y Van Gaal había habido ya varias confrontaciones. Hönnes había calificado a Van Gaal de "resistente a los consejos" y había dicho que el holandés tenía dificultades para entender que el Bayern no era "un show de un hombre solo".
Hönnes espera ahora una explosión de rendimiento de sus jugadores ya que "pueden quitarse la camisa de fuerza".
Van Gaal será relevado de forma interina por su asistente Andries Joncker que deberá encargarse del equipo hasta el final de esta temporada.
El Bayern y Van Gaal ya habían acordado separarse al final de la temporada y el nuevo entrenador del Bayern en el próximo ejercicio será Jupp Heynckes, actualmente en el banquillo del Bayer Leverkusen.
Con el empate ante el Núremberg, el Bayern había caído al cuarto lugar de la clasificación con lo que queda de momento por fuera de las casillas que dan acceso a la Liga de Campeones.
Un error garrafal del meta Thomas Kraft -a quien Van Gaal hizo titular relegando al banquillo al experimentado Jörg Butt- generó el empate del Núremberg.
"Con la decisión de quitarle la titularidad a Jörg Butt empezó toda la mierda", dijo hoy Hönnes.
En la temporada pasada, Van Gaal había ganado con el Bayern el doblete en Alemania y había llegado a la final de la Liga de Campeones.
En esta temporada, el Bayern ha tenido una campaña llena de problemas y Van Gaal fue permanentemente criticado por continuas decisiones erráticas que han impedido que el equipo encuentre estabilidad defensiva.
A lo largo de la temporada, Van Gaal ensayó 19 formaciones defensivas distintas.
