La facturación de los productos industriales cayó el 3,4 por ciento en 2008 con respecto al año anterior, hasta los 409.699 millones de euros, según la Encuesta Industrial de Productos difundida hoy por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE).
Esta reducción se debió principalmente a la disminución del 15,3% en las ventas del sector de los productos minerales no metálicos, hasta los 24.766 millones, y del 15,2% en las de muebles y otras industrias manufactureras, en el que se facturaron 9.852 millones.
Por su parte, el sector de la alimentación, bebidas y tabaco alcanzó el mayor volumen de ventas, con 78.962 millones de euros, lo que supone el 19,3% del total y el 4,6% más que el año anterior.
Por comunidades, el mayor descenso de las ventas de productos industriales se registró en Baleares, con una bajada interanual del 8,5%, seguida de Aragón (8,3%), Madrid y Asturias (ambas, con el 6,6%).
