El poeta, ensayista y novelista madrileño Luis Antonio de Villena ha dicho que la concesión del Premio Cervantes al poeta argentino Juan Gelman está "muy bien dada", pero cree que "últimamente parece que sólo se premia a poetas metafísicos", línea en la que, para Villena, Gelman es "estupendo".
"Resulta curiosa esta actual tendencia a premiar a una única línea poética: la de la poesía metafísica frente a una poesía más realista. Es algo que me choca y que me parece mal, puesto que deberían premiarse todos los estilos", ha asegurado el escritor madrileño en una conversación telefónica con Efe.
No obstante, De Villena ha opinado que, al margen de este hecho, es "indudable" que Gelman es un merecido ganador, puesto que "dentro de la línea metafísica que cultiva, es un poeta estupendo que posee una poesía que encuentra la salvación en lo hondo del ser".
