La compañía aérea Vueling perdió 6,3 millones de euros en el primer trimestre de 2009, el 72 por ciento menos que en el mismo periodo del año anterior, en el que registró un negativo de 22 millones de euros, informó hoy la empresa a la Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV).
El ingreso por pasajero aumentó el 10,8 por ciento, hasta los 68,5 euros, lo que hizo crecer el ingreso por vuelo el 13,8 por ciento, hasta los 8.192 euros.
También se incrementó el nivel de ocupación por primera vez en los últimos cinco trimestres 1,33 puntos, hasta el 66,6 por ciento, a pesar de que la Semana Santa de este año no tuvo lugar como el pasado durante el primer trimestre.
Vueling prevé una significativa mejora en el segundo trimestre, tanto en ingresos como en coste, y espera que el nivel de ingreso por vuelo se incremente de nuevo como resultado de la cancelación de rutas no rentables, así como por el efecto de la Semana Santa durante el mes de abril.
El total de ingresos en el primer trimestre de este año fue de 74 millones de euros, un 15,4 por ciento menos que los 87,6 millones del mismo periodo del año anterior.
El resultado neto de explotación (Ebit) alcanzó pérdidas de 9,6 millones de euros frente a los 32 millones del primer trimestre de 2008, lo que supone una reducción del negativo del 89,9 por ciento.
La compañía señala que la optimización del nivel de ingreso por vuelo sigue siendo el principal objetivo, y agrega que los costes se reducirán en lo que queda de año por la mayor utilización de los aviones, las nuevas bajadas del combustible y los descensos adicionales en costes fijos como consecuencia de mejoras estructurales.
