El presidente del Gobierno, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, señaló ayer que el Ejecutivo "siempre está abierto a perfeccionar" la Ley del Aborto. Eso sí, cree que deben evitarse las "descalificaciones" y tratar que el debate sea "más desapasionado".
Durante una entrevista en Cuatro, Rodríguez Zapatero se mostró sorprendido por la polémica que ha desatado la posibilidad de que las mujeres a partir de 16 años puedan interrumpir su embarazo sin el consentimiento paterno. "Hasta 2002, la ley funcionaba así, y ahora se restituye esa situación", dijo. Por ello, se preguntó si alguien recordaba que antes de esa fecha el consentimiento paterno "fuera objeto de debate".
El presidente defendió que el Gobierno "ha afrontado un problema de cara" y que España camina hacia una ley "en la media europea".
Por otro lado, la dirección del Grupo Popular en el Congreso estudia tomar medidas contra la diputada Celia Villalobos, quien el martes se saltó la disciplina de su partido en el Congreso y se abstuvo en la moción que pedía retirar el anteproyecto de ley del aborto. "Primero hay que conocer que es lo que pasado, porque a veces se producen errores y otras se trata de un voto distinto, pero consciente", señalaron fuentes del PP a Europa Press.
Villalobos justificó su abstención asegurando que creyó que su grupo iba a optar por esa vía. La diputada ya rompió la disciplina de voto cuando se tramitó la ley del matrimonio gay.
