Actualizado:La red social Facebook anunció a través de un comunicado que un problema de seguridad en su sistema podría afectar a 50 millones de cuentas. El origen del fallo se produjo en su código, lo que produjo que los hackers tuviesen fácil acceso a direcciones.
Según Facebook, los piratas informáticos explotaron una "vulnerabilidad" en el código de la plataforma que afectó al modo "Ver como", una habilidad que permite a los usuarios ver su perfil como si fuesen otra gente.
La empresa ha asegurado que la investigación está aún en una "fase inicial" y que desconocen quién está detrás del ataque, pero que lamentan lo acontecido y que ya están solventando el error.
Todo se debe, según el comunicado de la empresa, a que una actualización en las características de los vídeos ha producido este debilitamiento en su seguridad. Este cambio se produjo en julio de 2017.
En la misiva publicada, Facebook advierte de que alrededor de 90 millones de usuarios tendrán que introducir sus datos de nuevo para acceder a sus perfiles. Tras eso, Facebook les enviará una notificación para saber qué ha pasado y la razón de este incidente.
Mark Zuckerberg, creador de Facebook ha declarado que es un problema de seguridad "muy grave" y que están trabajando con el FBI para encontrar a los intrusos.
