Bruce Springsteen publica una canción dedicada a las víctimas del ICE en Mineápolis

El cantante define a los agentes como el "ejército privado del rey Trump" y asegura que el tema es una respuesta al "terrorismo de Estado".

El cantante Bruce Springsteen ha publicado este miércoles la canción Streets of Minneapolis (Calles de Minéapolis), dedicada a Renee Good y Alex Pretti, asesinados en el último mes a manos de agentes del servicio de control migratorio (ICE) en la ciudad de Mineápolis.

"Esta canción está dedicada a la gente de Mineápolis, nuestros vecinos migrantes y a la memoria de Alex Pretti y Renee Good", ha escrito el cantante en una publicación en redes sociales.

Springsteen ha revelado la canción en ese mismo mensaje, en el que afirma que la canción es una "respuesta al terrorismo de Estado que asola la ciudad de Mineápolis". En la misma publicación, el cantante asegura que escribió la canción el pasado sábado, la grabó el martes y la ha publicado este miércoles. "Manteneos libres", concluye el guitarrista.

En el tema, Springsteen habla del ICE como "el ejército privado del rey Trump" y se refiere directamente a las víctimas: "dos cuerpos sin vida en las calles llenas de nieve / Alex Pretti and Renee Good".

Aunque las críticas del cantante al presidente de EEUU, Donald Trump, y las redadas contra migrantes no son nuevas. En un concierto en Nueva Jersey, Bruce Springsteen dedicó su canción The Promised Land a Renee Good y cargó contra Trump, subrayando que el ICE debía irse "de una puta vez" de Mineápolis.

En las últimas semanas, miles de agentes han sido desplegados en la ciudad, dirigida por demócratas, después de que Trump haya impulsado desde principios de enero su campaña de redadas a gran escala para deportar a migrantes en todo el país.

Pero la tensión ha escalado en Mineápolis después de que el pasado 7 de enero un agente del ICE asesinara a tiros a Renee Good y, el pasado viernes, a Alex Pretti. Algo que ha provocado que miles de ciudadanos salieran a las calles de la ciudad y el país para condenar las redadas contra migrantes.
