¿Por qué una estrella como Madonna pondría su voz en el descanso de la Super Bowl sin cobrar un solo dolar? La respuesta es sencilla. La final de la Liga de Fútbol Americano, que tendrá lugar, como cada año, el primer domingo de febrero, es la competición de fútbol americano más importante de los EEUU y el evento deportivo de mayor audiencia del mundo.
Los anunciantes pagan cantidades millonarias por los espacios publicitarios y las estrellas que entretienen a la afición durante los minutos que separan a las dos partes del partido, sabiendo la repercusión que tiene participar en el acto, nunca cobrar por asistir.
Así lo publica la revista Newser, para la que cualquier estrella daría su brazo derecho por aparecer en la Super Bowl. El precio de los espacios publicitarios es cada vez más elevado: La cifra récord la lidera Volkswagen, que llegó a pagar 3,5 millones de dólares por un spot de 30 segundos. No es extraño si se tiene en cuenta que la última edición se convirtió en el programa más visto de la historia en EEUU, con más de 111 millones de espectadores pegados a su televisión, durante las más de cuatro horas con constantes interrupciones que dura el partido.
Para Madonna, que acaba de estrenar Give me all your luvin, el primer sencillo del disco que sacará al mercado el próximo 26 de marzo, y que continúa con la promoción de su segunda película, W.E., ser la estrella de la final de 2012 supone una campaña publicitaria considerable, con la que se sumará a la larga lista de las grandes estrellas que han amenizado la Super Bowl. Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross o The Black Eyed Peas son algunos de ellos.
La final de mañana la disputarán el New England Patriots y New York Giants en el Lucas Oil Stadium de Indianápolis, con capacidad para 70.000 espectadores.
