Rossi, que había entrado por Gatusso (por quién si no), empató con un gran zurdazo y abrió el camino de la Azurri hacia una de sus clásicas victorias por imperativo letal. De Rossi, liberado sin la presencia del Albelda italiano, y de nuevo Rossi dieron color al triunfo italiano.
