El Xerez Club Deportivo ha anunciado esta noche el cese en sus funciones de José Ángel 'Cuco' Ziganda como entrenador del primer equipo, que marcha último en la clasificación con sólo siete puntos sumados en diecisiete jornadas.
El club ha informado que Antonio Poyatos, secretario técnico, se hará cargo de la primera plantilla xerecista de forma transitoria hasta la llegada del sustituto del entrenador navarro.
Ziganda llegó al club azulino el pasado verano, justo después del ascenso a Primera del Xerez, el primero en la historia del club, en sustitución del malagueño Esteban Vigo, que no renovó su contrato a pesar de haber sido el artífice de ese logro.
La destitución de Ziganda como entrenador del Xerez, colista en la clasificación de primera división, es la quinta de un técnico en lo que va de temporada en la Primera división española. Antes que el entrenador navarro perdieron el puesto Abel Resino (Atlético de Madrid), Juan Carlos Mandía (Racing), Marcelino García Toral (Zaragoza) y el mexicano Hugo Sánchez (Almería).
