La presidenta de Òmnium Cultural, Muriel Casals, ha afirmado que la sentencia del TSJC sobre el castellano en las escuelas "se explica por un intento a la desesperada de conseguir por la vía judicial lo que no se puede lograr por la vía legal". "En Catalunya hay una ley de educación muy clara ( ... ) Todos los niños y niñas terminan secundaria siendo competentes en las dos lenguas".
Casals duda de que el recurso anunciado por la Conselleria de Educación consiga detener la sentencia. "Desgraciadamente, la judicatura no es siempre justa porque está muy politizada pero lo que sí creo es que las escuelas de nuestro país deben aplicar la ley del Parlamento, estaríamos ante un caso de no obedecer, de no acatar unas normas que nos vienen de fuera y que tergiversan el sentido de la legalidad y la legitimidad catalana".
La presidenta de Òmnium considera que los directores no deberían acatar la sentencia, que fija el uso del castellano en cinco escuelas catalanas en un 25%: "Nosotros formamos parte de la plataforma Som escola, habrá una reunión del plenario y se verá cómo se reacciona pero lo que no se puede es asumir un comportamiento que no está de acuerdo con la legalidad catalana ni de acuerdo con la lógica, nosotros queremos que los niños sepan las dos lenguas", ha afirmado.
"Yo creo que están buscando dañar la convivencia en las aulas. La convivencia funciona, no hay problemas por culpa de la lengua, están intentando crear un problema, se trata de evitar que el problema llegue a las aulas", ha concluido Casals.
