Una patera con 16 inmigrantes subsaharianos a bordo, tres de ellos mujeres embarazas y otros tres menores, ha llegado hoy a las islas Alhucemas, un pequeño archipiélago situado frente a la costa marroquí, a unos cien kilómetros al oeste de Melilla. Según han informado fuentes de la Delegación del Gobierno en la ciudad autónoma, la embarcación ha arribado a la denominada Isla de Tierra, un pequeño islote situado al lado del Peñón de Alhucemas, y que compone, junto la Isla del Mar, un archipiélago de soberanía española.
En la lancha viajaban siete inmigrantes varones, seis mujeres, tres de ellas embarazadas, además de tres menores, según las fuentes. De momento, los 16 inmigrantes permanecen en el archipiélago a la espera de que sean trasladados.
La Isla de Tierra está situada entre 10 y 30 metros de la costa marroquí, dependiendo de la pleamar. Los dos islotes están deshabitados, al contrario que el Peñón de Alhucemas, donde hay una pequeña guarnición militar. La entrada de inmigrantes a islotes de soberanía española es una de las nuevas vías utilizada por las mafias, ya que a lo largo de este año se han registrado varias entradas al archipiélago de Chafarinas y al Peñón de Vélez, donde arribaron 41 inmigrantes hace apenas unos días.
